CORRIE LIVE: What did you think?

Apart from two minor technical boo-boo's, Corrie Live went without a hitch and the acting was superb, especially by Tina O'Brien, who for me, was the star of the show.

Tina looked genuinely frightened as she acted out Sarah-Lou's battle against Callum and thereafter, her acting never faltered. Paula Lane and Jack P Shepherd were also brilliant and kept the panic temperatures rising, as the three comprehended the fact that they had Callum's dead body on their hands.
Not one cast member slipped up, which for some of us out here, was a disappointment (every one secretly loves a 'How's Adam' moment, don't they!)

Where I'm praising the cast and crew for brilliant performances, I can't help but feel slightly let down by the actual plot of the Live.
We were given that fantastic trailer for 'Nowhere Left to Run' and I feel that the main action was over far too soon. The opening ten minutes were action packed, and brilliantly played, but the crescendo peaked too soon, for me. By the first commercial break, Callum was dead on the floor, and I feel that the struggle between him, Sarah-Lou, Kylie and David could have stretched out until at least the second ad-break, and then taking us into the shock, and finally, the concealment of the bad lads body.

Callum had the upper hand...
And that is my only criticism, really. That the action ended too soon...
The rest of it is all positive, because this Callum story is over in its first chapter, but the story to follow will break Sarah-Lou down (she's already in bits!), push Kylie and David to breaking point and possibly leave Gail sleeping above the Platt family nemesis' body!

Until Kylie walloped him for attacking Sarah...

David and Kylie think the unthinkable...
There's no way David will be able to rid of the body now it's safely under the manhole in Gail's extension. He'll need help, and more help than that of Kylie. Unless Tony, Jason and Todd, who also wanted Callum's blood, come in to help - but can the Platt's trust the Grimshaw's?
The Callum situation has bonded David, and his sometimes strained relationship with Sarah-Lou, so can it bind two families whose mothers have been warring for years on end?
The Tony and Todd stealing of the car was a little silly - I think Tony of the sort of guy who wouldn't joy-ride and blow his enemy's car up (not at least without him in it!) but it's also understandable that with a live episode and wanting to give an ensemble cast a little bit each of airtime, some scenes are 'fillers'. It also gave away the Platt's chance to remove Callum's body, directing the storyline into a more interesting territory.
I also wonder how Kylie, who is a strong soul, will cope with the fact that she's killed someone. And not just any 'someone', but someone she once loved, someone who's her sons dad, and someone who has been ruining her life over the last year? I think the third point will be the one to keep Kylie together. Now that Callum's gone, the terror is over. Isn't it?

Another main story of the night was Lloyd and Andrea's leaving do, which was another great way of making sure cast members not directly involved in the action were part of the live show. I was also a little confused after it was revealed a few days ago, that something would happen during the live, that meant Andrea and Lloyd reappeared in Friday's episode. But as far as I could see, they left pretty happily ever after. Lloyd's speech in the Rovers was lovely, and it seemed to come from Craig Charles' heart.

Then there was the reveal of Sally and Kev's illicit snog - thank you drunken Anna! Debbie Rush played her tipsy role very well, too, and is it just me, or can you also see a spark between Anna and Tim? I'm not sure if it's a romantic spark, or just one of a nice friendship, but I hope we see more, especially as they have Faye in common.
Sally was left as devastated as Tim by the revelation, and it looks at the moment like the wedding is off, off, off! Sal and Tim are a great comedy couple, so as much as I like the friendship between Tim and Anna, I do hope Sally gets her happy ever after too. The coupling works because they are actual polar opposites - who would have thought that Sally the Snob would be a match for laid back Tim? I think the relationship also works, because Sal's daughter, Sophie, and Tim are also on the same wavelength, and not afraid to call Sally out on her snobbery at times.
More importantly to some viewers, though, will be whether Tim and Kev's friendship will weather this storm? I love how the writers have made the Websters a fantastic modern family, with an ex-hubby becoming best mates with their ex's new hubby. It works. And for that, lets hope that Stim (or Tally!) make it!

The third major story which played out between Roy and Cathy gave the classic Corrie 'Aw' moment. Since Hayley's death, Roy has struggled, and when Cathy was introduced, the Corrie team were worried about how fans would react should she turn into a love interest.
It's been nice that the friendship has developed slowly, and crept up on us as much as it's crept up on Roy.

Happiness again for Roy and Cathy...
After Cathy decided to leave, popping on the bus, which had earlier turned into Roy's very own nemesis (have you ever heard anyone bash the !!!!!! key so harsh?!) the bus popped one of its own - a tyre. 'Did you Hex the bus, Roy?' Steph asked... I wonder if it was Hayley, prompting her beloved Roy to follow happiness?
He did, and as the two shared one of Rita's Rum Baba's (I need to try one of those myself!), they also decided it was time to make new memories of their own. And shared a little peck. Awwww, see!

Oh and for those whinging about Callum's corpse still breathing - he wasn't really dead in real life - Coronation Street is make believe!! (Who'd of thunk it!)

Well done Corrie team.

What did you make of the Corrie Live?

CORRIE LIVE: Nowhere left to run

Is it me or has it been a bit quiet in soapland over the last few weeks. Apart from Emmerdale's brilliant Summer Fate, since EastEnders' live week in February, the people of soap have had a fairly straightforward ride. Well, as straightforward it can be in Walford, Weatherfield, Emmerdale farm and Hollyoaks village!

EastEnders are ramping up towards Kathy's explosive full-time comback, and Max's trial will continue its twists into next week, which is bound to be with a bang. Meanwhile, Hollyoaks are gearing up towards its October reveal of the Gloved-Hand killer on the 20th anniversary.

Nowhere left to run for the Platt's...
But right now, it's all happening up in Manchester at Coronation Street, where the live hour-long show will be happening on Wednesday.
Everyone loves a live, even people who don't religiously watch soaps tune in, just to see what occurs. And Corrie have promised a life-changing event for the Platt family, as Callum's reign of terror over them comes to a head.
Part me me thinks 'finally!' as Callum has been getting away with it all for too long. And now that little Max has seen his dad for what he really is after witnessing Callum's attack on Jason. And now that Callum's under pressure from a drug supplier to give him £20,000, the bad boy has been threatening and blackmailing the Platt's, who are about to have an extension on their house.

Last night's episode ended with desperate Callum being arrested for the attack on Jason, after Bethany retracted the alibi statement he blackmailed her into giving him.
Blackmail - that's a word thrown around a lot where Callum's involved, but will the live episode end in a more serious word. Like murder?

Tina O'Brien and Sean Ward, have revealed this morning (on This Morning, coincidentally!) that there will be a lot of action, outside scenes and with Gail's annex being built, will someone be thrown a-la Tina McIntyre to their death?
The storyline with Callum has got to end during this live episode, surely, and I can't see him leaving the family alone quietly, so will itbe Callum who ends up dead? And if so, who kills him?
It's easy to think David, who has had a bad streak himself in the past, but would now do anything to protect his family... But then it could be Sarah-Lou, who had a relationship with Callum before finding out herself about his true colours...
Then there's Kylie, who is at the end of her tether with her ex, and who also has a feisty streak when she needs to, along with Jason and Tony, who are still out for revenge of Callum, too.
Of course, Corrie could shock us all and kill off or seriously injure one of the long-standing, and much loved characters, like David, Gail, Sarah-Lou or Kylie. In soap, you've got to touch the audience, and what better way than putting one of the most famous faces in mortal peril?

Elsewhere, and on a lighter note, in the live will be Lloyd and Andrea's leaving do, as they set off for a new life in Jersey. But all isn't as straightforward as that, because Hayley Tammadon, who plays Andrea, has revealed that she and Lloyd will be back for an extra secret scene after the live (which has already been filmed)...
Then there's Sally and Kev's secret kiss which is going to be revealed to poor Tim and threaten the wedding of the year! More to the point, will Tim and Kevin's friendship survive the throwaway peck?

One thing's for sure, there are consequences galore in Wednesday's live...

And it'll now be even more special for Corrie producer Stuart Blackburn, as it's been revealed that he's soon to move on to other ITV Drama projects, with Emmerdale's producer Kate Oates taking over his role in he New Year. Yep - all change behind the soapland scenes, as Hollyoaks series producer Iain MacLeod will be taking over the helm at Emmerdale.

Wonder what changes on screen the new producers will surprise us with!

CORONATION STREET: Deirdre and Anne's fitting goodbye

We all knew it was going to come, and this week it did.

After Anne Kirkbride passed away earlier this year, Corrie, working alongside Anne's family, have been working on a fitting end for one of the soap's most iconic characters.

When an actor passes away suddenly, or they have to leave their role without any warning, or a way to be given a proper send off on screen, it must be difficult for those behind the scenes to find a way to write their character away, for a while, or for good. But it must be even harder when that character is as well known and loved, just like Deirdre was.

In the back of my mind, I knew that Corrie would do Annie's memory justice, as they all loved her dearly. That you could tell from the tributes and raw upset at the awards ceremonies that have been since her passing. But I also worried that it may not 'live up' to expectations of the fans.

On Wednesday, when Bev arrived to tell Ken and Tracey the sad news, I braced myself on my sofa. Took a deep breath, if you like, because this was a big deal for many who were also sitting on their sofas, but also for Annie's family, and those she worked with for many years.
I think that when a storyline like this occurs, due to the actor no longer being with us in real life, too, it makes it all the more heartbreaking. I've cried at my favourite soap characters being killed off in the past before, because the story was so well told and emotive. It hasn't happened lots in my life, but there are one or two occasions when it's got me struck with tears.
This, on Wednesday, felt different, though.
When the news was broken, and Ken and Tracey broke down, it felt like watching as a fly on the wall, a real family being told of the death of their loved one. It was a scenario that, of course I wanted to watch, because I rationally knew that it was a soap, but I also had a small part of me that wanted to shy away, as though I shouldn't be watching this tender, personal moment.

And that is where Corrie did Annie proud. It was real.

The tears from Ken as he took Deirdre's glasses from Bev, and when he broke down to Steve, in the ginnel, as well as when Tracey broke into sobs towards the end of the episode... You could feel those emotions were as true to life as they were acted.

In the pub, where most of the other regular characters rallied, ready to celebrate Deidre's 60th birthday, I counted how many of them said her name. It was a hell of a lot! It was as though the writers wanted her name to leave the mouths of those characters just one last time.
The emotions here were also real, after Liz announced that her 'best friend' had died (and of course, they were best friends in real life, too), the line between character and actor was as thin as could be.

Last night's episode was lovely, too. The comedy of Corrie was still importantly there. Norris (of course!) and Lloyd being typical men, and thinking of their stomachs, even at a time like that... I also enjoyed the way that Steve took Ken into the back yard of the Rovers, bought him a drink out and later went for a walk with him. I thought that it was quite poignant that a character who had just overcome, and was still battling, depression found a strength in him to help someone who needed support.
I also have to touch on Simon Barlow's reaction, and the way his behaviour towards Leanne is escalating even more. It's going to be a hard hitting subject of domestic violence between a child and their parent. But his reaction is important, because, as he said: everyone he loves dies. He's become almost indifferent to it.

Towards the end of last night's episode, when the Rovers all lifted a toast 'to Deirdre', and the wind blew the doors open, as though Deirdre's presence was there, was also touching.
Some may scoff at that scene and say that it didn't need to be. But those who do believe in life after death will have smiled, maybe just to themselves, as that scene aired.

Tonight, and next week, will see the lead up to, and the actual funeral of Deirdre. I'm sure that will be just as gentle and emotive as the past two episodes have been.

It really was a great tribute, no big show, no massive drama. Just gentle, natural scenes, which did what they had to do perfectly, in my opinion.

Annie and Deirdre would have been proud. Blanche on the other hand... may have had something to say!

CORRIE: The flames begin to burn

We've been promised a week to remember from Coronation Street, as it slots nicely in between Britain's Got Talent at 9pm each night.

So far, it's been a slow burner, but the heat steps up a gear tonight.

I'm not saying it's been a slow burner in a bad way, and anyone who thinks it's best to jump straight into the action can't understand the meaning of anticipation... We know what's coming, and tonight it comes.

We've also been promised surprises, twists and turns from Fire Week, with the rumour that not everyone makes it out alive.

Tracy, being Tracy, want's revenge. I loved the ode to the past last night, as she contemplated hitting Carla over the head, just as she killed her ex, Charlie. Unbeknownst to Trace, her daughter, Amy, is staying with Carla. Anyone else know why Liz asked Carla to have her granddaughter for the night, instead of just asking Ken or Tracey? A way to get Amy in danger, I guess...

While everything came to a head in the Rovers - Liz leaving Tony a voicemail telling him she knew about his affair with Tracey and the plot to rob the pub from under her nose, Kal about to propose to Leanne  but forgetting the all important ring and heading back to the flats, and Maddie and Sophie planning a holiday and their future together in a new home.
Clues to those in danger maybe?

As Tracey was disturbed by a toilet flushing, and not realising her daughter was Carla's overnight guest, she carelessly left a burning candle underneath a table lamp. It began to catch fire, and we wer left to await tonight's action.

A preview clip shows Leanne desperately trying to get into a flat, knowing Kal is there as the fire takes hold. We see her in an embrace with him, and Amy, as the flames spread.

My guess is that it won't be a happy ending for either Leanne or maybe Sophie, as two characters known to be leaving are Kal and Maddie.
Will Kal stay back to save Carla and perish?
Maddie is also the sort of character who would risk her life to help someone; look how she was during the bus crash...
If Kal is killed, or left severely injured, it'll have a rippling affect on his family. Especially his son, Zeedan, who has only just given his blessing to his dad's relationship with Leanne. Having lost their mother as children, and now their father in mortal danger, what will come of the Nasir family, next?

The fire is also set to be the start of some harrowing plots for the Street residents. We know that Simon is set to turn violent against his mum, Leanne. Could the consequences of this week begin the spiral?

Kevin Webster also has a drama of his own, thanks to crazy lady Jenny, who's about to run off with his son, Jack.
Rumour has it that Jenny will end up on the top of a building, threatening to jump with the youngster. Maybe, if Maddie doesn't get involved with the fire, she will try to be hero here, with tragic consequences?
This has been an interesting story, as it's creeped slowly upon the Websters. Sophie has never felt comfortable about Jenny, and they will soon realise why.
Having lost a son of her own, Jenny has only been clinging to Kevin, to get to Jack, who's challenging Simon Barlow for the most drama had in a young life. (Apart from Hollyoaks' Tom Cunningham, he always wins hands down!)

Lastly, maybe this will be Tracy's turning point, too? Her actions could cost her daughter's life. Enough to make her change? Only time will tell. But I'd imagine the Barlow's come out of this pretty unscathed, as they're soon to take centre stage as Corrie say goodbye to Deidre, after Anne Kirkbride's death at the beginning of the year.

Things are never going to be the same on Coronation Street again...

Have you been enjoying the fire episodes this week?

CORONATION STREET: Leanne Battersby in domestic violence plot

It;s going to be a massive summer over in Corrie for Leanne Battersby, as she suffers domestic violence at the hands of a loved one.

But it's the perpetrator who's the biggest shock of all.

Her 12-year-old son - Simon, will be the person causing Leanne's suffering.

The news was revealed just now on This Morning, in a poll where viewers had to choose which shock secret that wanted to hear.

I've got to admit, I was shocked at that one! Sweet little Simon has been through many traumas in his young life.
He lost his biological mum as a baby, his dad, Peter, was an alcoholic, he's survived a house fire and many more upsets. Is all of this the cause for his sudden change in personality, or will something else soon occur to tip the young'un over the edge?

I'm guessing Leanne, who adopted Simon from her marriage to Peter Barlow, will suffer in silence, without telling her partner, Kal, or Simon's grandad, Ken.

It's a hard hitting plot, for sure, which I'm looking forward to seeing pan out.

NTA Anne Kirkbride tribute to be lead by her screen soul mate, Bill Roache

I, like the rest of the nation was shocked and really sad to hear that 'Our Deirdre' - Anne Kirkbride - had passed away on Monday night.

From what we know, Anne's death was sudden, and followed a short illness. She was also, it's said, was set to make a comeback to Corrie later this month after a three month hiatus.

The cast and crew have shared their grief - via Twitter and through TV interviews - with us, and tonight, only two days after her passing, Bill Roache, who plays Anne's on screen husband, Ken Barlow, will lead a tribute to her at the National Television Awards, live on ITV.

The NTA producers have been in talks with ITV and Coronation Street, with Corrie's producer Stuart Blackburn confirming:

"Bill's going to be saying a few words paying tribute to Annie. We know that's going to be difficult for him because they were very dear friends. It's just our chance to support him and support the memory and legacy of Annie."

I'm sure that it will be a fitting and highly emotive tribute.

These kinds of recognition are always emotional, but being only a couple of days after her loss will be even more so.

As Corrie's Jack P. Shepherd - who plays David Platt - said so aptly on Twitter -

'RIP The Weatherfield One.'

CORONATION STREET LIVE

Coronation Street bosses have revealed what to expect for their next live episode, which will air in September, to mark the shows 60th anniversary.

Following EastEnders' 30th, which will air in a month's time, Corrie is also marking a special year.

The last live Coronation Street was back in 2010, and followed the dramatic tram crash but producer Stuart Blackburn, is keen to take a different approach this time - probably!

He explained: "Bear in mind that I'm the guy who told Michelle Keegan that we wouldn't be killing her off, but right now I'm thinking that a big spectacular would be the wrong way to go as it'll feel like we're copying the tram crash, so we're looking to focus on real storytelling. There are still a few weeks until we do the long term planning which will cover that, so who knows? If someone comes up with something brilliant that completely goes against that, then we'll run with it!"

There are already a couple of massive plots on their way, to run on the end of next week's bus crash, including Faye Windasses' pregnancy and the return of Sarah-Lou.

It's been revealed that Faye will confide in pal, Craig, over taunts she's been receiving at school about her weight. Craig will ask Faye if she could be pregnant - prompting the 12-year-old to take a test, which returns positive.

Unbeknownst to us at the time, Faye slept with a boy at a friends party last year, and will already be a good few months into her pregnancy. The story will follow how her family support her and how Faye will feel at becoming a mum at such a young age.

More details have also been released about the return of Sarah-Louise Platt and her daughter, Bethany, who was - ironically to Faye's story - born when Sarah was only a 13-year-old teen.
Sarah comes home to Coronation Street after Bethanym who's now a 14-year-old 'wild child' gets fed up of her life in Milan and heads back to the Street.

Making an immediate impression, Bethany arrives at the Rovers Return and convinces Andy (Fake Gavin Rodwell!) to buy her a drink.Andy is fooled by Bethany, who's looking much older than her 14 years, but her true identity is revealed to all once Gail, who's going to be engaged to Michael Rodwell - 'Gavin's' dad - and 'the rest of the Platts come face-to-face with her.

Gail will also find herself lying to Michael over 'Gavin' when she finds out about his true identity. Gavin, who's really Andy, pretended to be Michael's son in a chance attempt to gain money. But after growing fond of Michael and the Platt's, and finding a life of his own in Weatherfield, Andy soon became drowned by his lies.
His girlfriend, Steph, already knows his true identity and Gail is the next to discover the secret.

Worried about what the truth will do to Michael's health, in the run up to an operation for his heart condition, Gail keeps schtum, but with the real Gavin on his way to Weatherfield - tying in just in time for Gail and Michael's wedding, the truth will no doubt soon be out to everyone. What will it mean for Gail's relationship?

Actor Mark Holgate will be playing the role of Gavin, for a guest stint, whereas Andy looks to be sticking around for the foreseeable future, even after his true identity is revealed.

Look's like it's gong to be a great year for Corrie, too.

All we need now is Hollyoaks to do a live for its 20th birthday in October!

CORONATION STREET - Bus Crash New Pics

Coronation Street will air its biggest stunt since the Tram crash, next week.

Steve McDonald, who is secretly battling depression, is driving the factory guys and girls on a night out, when a gang of boy racers decide to cut them up - causing Steve try and beat them to the end of the road.

However, the mini bus is soon ran off the road by the fast car, leaving several lives hanging in the balance.

Even more terrifyingly, as the pictures below show, the bus is left teetering on the edge of a steep drop, and soon tumbles over the top.

Coronation Street producer Stuart Blackburn said: "Everyone involved in filming these dramatic episodes is very proud of the end results. The stunt is breathtaking and is real edge of the seat stuff.
But, in the spirit of great storytelling, the crash itself is just the start of the drama and will have far reaching effects for all the people involved in the coming months."

This will hopefully see Steve get the help he needs for his mental state, but what are the consequences for the remaining Street residents?

Well, it's since been revealed that Sinead Tinker will be the most seriously injured, and upcoming scenes between Sinead and her boyfriend Chesney are said to be 'heartbreaking'.

The crash will also bring major repercussions for enemies Carla and Tracey, with their relationship, too, changing forever.

CORONATION STREET - Sarah-Lou to return to the Cobbles

Coronation Street bosses have announced that Sarah-Louise Platt is coming home - to cause more trouble and strife for her mum, Gail.

Actress Tina O'Brien, who plays Sarah-Lou has said:

"I am delighted to be returning. Sarah has a lot of history and unfinished business on the street and I'm looking forward to finding out what she's been up to and why she's returned home."

Coming along with Sarah, who has been living in Italy, will be her now-teenage daughter Bethany, who Sarah gave birth to at just 13-years-old in a shocking story line. Bethany has been billed a a bit of a 'wild-child'...

Sarah-Lou, Gail and Bethany before her departure in 2007
Corrie bosses are keeping Sarah-Lou's return story a secret, but they have teased that her comeback will cause problems for her mum Gail, who will no doubt be pleased to see Sarah back in Weatherfield.
But Gail may not be pleased for long as Sarah soon proves that she can rival her brothers Nick and David in the drama stakes.

We last saw Sarah in 2007, when she fled to Italy after a disastrous short marriage to Jason Grimshaw. To add to the drama, Sarah also once had a relationship with Jason's brother Todd, before it ended when Todd came out as gay. Sarah and Todd also had a son, Billy, who died shortly after his birth.

Let the drama commence!

CORRIE - Rob's confession as Not Guilty Peter is found Guilty

In last night's dramatic Corrie court showdown, Peter was wrongly found Guilty of murdering Tina - just as I predicted.

But the verdict may not stick for as long as I imagined, as real killer Rob Donovan is about to confess all to his sister Carla, after she backs him into a corner.

Carla no longer believes her ex-hubby killed Tina and after overhearing Rob and his fiancee Tracy Barlow on the eve of their wedding - she realises that their stories do not match...and tells Rob that she knows Tracy is the murderer!

After Rob storms out, following Carla's pressing questions, Rob tries to convince his sister that he's suffering from wedding jitters and that he knows Tracy is innocent - leaving Carla to ask whether that's because he killed Tina.

To which Rob reply's 'YES...'

Will Carla turn her brother in moments before his wedding or will Rob not give her the chance?

CORRIE - Will Not Guilty Peter be found Guilty?

It's a rare occasion when I dip in to write a Corrie blog, not because I don't watch the soap - I do - but as I've mentioned before, I find that they just aren't as popular as other soaps I ramble on about!

But tonight is quite a biggie, and so I thought deserved some attention.

Peter Barlow is to find out whether a jury finds him Guilty or Not Guilty of Tina McIntyre's murder.

We all know that he didn't kill his lover - who he broke off with just minutes before the attack which led to her death -  but it was Rob Donovan, who's engaged to Peter's sister Tracy - who's also been in prison for murder!

Poor old Peter hasn't had it easy in court. He's had his alcohol addiction thrown at him, anger issues brought up and even his best pal admitted that he thought he could've done it!

There was some light, however, when Peter's estranged wife, Carla (who's also Rob Donovan's sister), told the court that she didn't think Peter was Tina's murderer - due to him saying that he'll go down 'for her' and keep 'her secret about killing Tina' while he was lay up half-comatose in hospital.

So what will the jury decide?

Either way it'll be a surprise until the episode airs tonight, as Corrie has done in the past with big court verdict - such as Tracy's guilty verdict for killing her man at the time and Tracey's mother Deirdre Barlow's. Who can forget 'Free the Weatherfield One', as Deirdre was wrongly sent down for fraud?

Those Barlow's certainly don't have much luck when it comes to court verdicts...maybe Peter can change that?

If he's found guilty, then surely the truth will come out eventually - especially with both actors who play Peter and Rob leaving around Christmas.

Corrie bosses have teased that one exit will be explosive and the other very sad.

My bets are on Tracy being responsible for Rob's downfall, especially as he's soon to leave her at the altar. Brave man!

Bosses have also said that Carla and Peter will soon tie up any loose ends in their relationship, and get closure. So maybe he's found Not Guilty and then leaves the Street alone? After all, he's left his son, Simon, who's settled Leanne, behind before.

Saying this - I think I'll go for a guilty verdict tonight...with justice being served in the end, and the truth coming out with a Christmas bang!

But with my money being on Peter to have the 'sad' exit - let's just hope it's not a case of too little too late for him.

CORONATION STREET - Rob becomes a runaway groom

So, I haven't written up on the cobbles of Corrie since the demise of Tina McIntyre - as the Telly Jolly readers back then didn't seem to interested in the most famous street in the world...

I figured I'd try again with the Corrie pieces, just to see if the growth of the readers are into a bit of Manchester madness. And boy, is Coronation Street about to get mad.

The runaway groom...
Those of you who watch the soap will know that Tracy Barlow and Rob Donovan are tying the knot. But Rob's life hasn't been plain sailing of late - as he was the one who killed Tina, and since half framing and blaming Tracy's brother Peter Barlow for the crime.

Tracy finally gets the lavish wedding day she's been so greedily planning, but all goes wrong, according to these pap pics, when the groom decides to do a runner!

Rob will apparently call Tracy to tell her the bad news, leaving the bride to scuffle with Rob's sister Carla Connor.

Tracy and Carla have a bit of a catfight!
The scenes were filmed at Capesthorne Hall, Cheshire, and looks set to be one of Corrie's most explosive weddings to date...and they've had a few.

The question is - why does Rob decide not to go through with the nuptials?

Has his conscience caught up with him over Tina? Or is there another reason?

CORRIE - Sean's 'never done before storyline'...

Coronation Street actor Antony Cotton has revealed that his character Sean Tully will be at the centre of a 'controversial' new storyline in the soap.

Antony, who has just signed a new one-year deal at Corrie, teased the upcoming plot during an interview with Attitude magazine.

"[My new contract] sees Sean staying at number 11 until at least August next year, with a very exciting and unique storyline beginning this Autumn. By the fact that Sean is a resident homosexual of the parish, it is a gay storyline. It's going to be a story that's never been done before and it is a great story. I'm thrilled and very excited by it."

Antony also added that the plot will definitely get people talking:

"It's areal honour for us to do it, because it's going to wind a lot of people up. Fans of the show will enjoy it and it'll be fun. But there is an element to it that I think will get some people wound up."

Coronation Street are also planning another shock story, where 12-year-old Faye Windass becomes pregnant

Sean's character has had his fair share of heartbreak, so let's hope it's not more man-trouble...

What do Corrie fans think Sean's next drama will be?

CORRIE - Tina returns!

Tina's back! For a moment, anyway...
Michelle Keegan makes a return to the Cobbles tonight - just in time for character Tina McIntyre's funeral, but not in a way you may think!

Tonight's hour-long episode airs an emotional tribute to Manchester's favourite chavvy barmaid, as Tina is laid to rest.

Unable to cope with her emotions, Tina's flatmate Steph decides to remember her friend in her own way and misses the funeral to stay at home and remember Tina in her own way.

This is when Steph finds a video on her phone of herself and Tina dancing around the flat to S Club 7's Reach. I don't know why it's S Club either... So don't ask!

After the episode, the full scene with Michelle Keegan will be available for fans to watch on Coronation Street's official website.

We all know that it was Rob Donovan who killed Tina last month, and with whispers of a prison set being built at the Corrie studio, it looks like someone's gong to down for it sooner rather than later.

Will killer Rob get caught out?
My guess is it won't be Rob - just yet. But wth Rob's sister Carla full in the frame, will he let her go down for his crime? Or will Rob frame Carla's husband, and Tina's former lover, Peter Barlow?

Then again, there might be another twist in this murderous tale...

CORRIE - Shock child pregnancy plot

Coronation Street's Faye Windass is to fall pregnant at the young age of 12.

Fans may think that this new storyline isn't much of a shocker, as Gail Platt's daughter Sarah-Lou fell pregnant as a 13-year-old teenager, back in 2000. But at the age of 12, Faye is going to be the youngest person in soap to go through pregnancy.

Faye will become pregnant - aged 12 - in Corrie's shocker story
Faye's mum Anna is set to be devastated, as she has been struggling to cope with her troubled daughter since adopting her a couple of years ago.

I can also imagine the pregnancy causing shockwaves at the Webster's household too, where snobby Sally is in a relationship with Faye's biological dad, Tim.

Gail can be a support to Anna - as her daughter Sarah-Lou had a baby at 13
Any more info on the story is yet to be released - but Corrie's eagle-eyed viewers will surely be wondering who the daddy will be, as Faye has yet to have any sort of young-love interest, and whether or not Faye will actually keep the baby.

I think this possibly has the potential to be one of Coronation Street's strongest stories this year...

CORRIE - Tina's real killer isn't even a suspect...

It was Rob!
We now all know that it was Rob Donovan - in the Street - with the lead piping!

Yes, with the cobbles' residents still reeling from Tina McIntyre's murder, and with the blame solely looking to be on Peter Barlow, real killer Rob must be feeling home and dry.

Although, I can't be the only one who's noticed him gibbering uneasily, especially since Tina's mum rocked up on the Street.

But Rob, really, really, need not worry - as Tina's mum, Ann, doesn't suspect him at all!

Lorraine Hodgson, who plays the grieving mum has told the Blackpool Gazette:

"Ann comes in to sort out the funeral arrangements and Rita takes her under her wing. It all kicks off at the funeral, but I can't say too much. Ann doesn't suspect Rob at all, she knows things have gone on, but she's not sure about what."

Rob's nervous, as Tina's mum, Ann, arrives...
Having come in for just a three week stint, Lorraine also admitted that she would love the role to be extended.

Maybe Corrie writers could concoct an affair between Ann and Rob?

Now that would be explosive!

Especially, as all things do in soap land, when the truth about what Rob did is finally revealed...

Beginning of the goodbye...

Tomorrow night, Tina McIntyre will be pushed to her death in Coronation Street by either Tracy, Peter, Rob or Carla... Corrie have already given fans a preview of each of the filmed scenes before Tina goes wallop, but only one will be aired in tomorrow's episode.

Wedged for the week in between the Britain's Got Talent semi-finals, tonight is the start of the drama, and it begins with Tina's heart being broken into teeny-tiny little Peter Barlow shaped pieces.

After being promised last week by Peter that they'd finally up sticks and move away together, Tina's world shatters around her as she finally discovers that Peter's wife Carla is pregnant.

Yep, right in the middle of the Rovers, Carla and Peter announce their happy news...

So Tina will be hell-bent on revenge for her lover, and with Rob now in the knowledge of Tina's affair with Peter, he's bound to spill the beans to his pregnant sister, who will then want revenge on Tina. As for Tracy, she and Tina have absolutely no love lost, so could easily end up in a roof-top scuffle.

Confused?

Maybe...

After watching each of the scenes, my money is on Carla at the moment...pushing Tina with anger, accidentally causing her death, with Peter, whose character is going to be saying 'tarraaaahhh' to Weatherfield at the end of the year, taking the rap and ending up banged up.

That's my theory for now, anyway. And I wasn't wrong about EastEnders' latest shocker, was I?

CORRIE - LEGO kills Tina?

While we all wait on the edge of our sofas until Feb 2015 (Let's hope we all have comfy seating at home!) to find out who killed Lucy Beale in EastEnders... Coronation Street are being a whole lot quicker when letting the cat out of the bag in their murder mystery.

According to Digital Spy, fans will find out who will be responsible for Tina's grisly end on the night of the televised murder - where four endings have already been filmed.

Peter Barlow, Carla Barlow, Tracy Barlow and Rob Donovan (well, he broke the Barlow chain...) have all been named as the possible suspects

Fans can watch each of the possible endings here, with only one being aired on the night (May 27th).

My favourite part, so far, in the 'Who killed Tina' saga has to be this:

At Manchester's Legoland Discovery Centre, visitors can see each of the suspects and the scene where Tina battles with every one of them, all made from LEGO.

So, Jolly's, who do you think pushes Tina over the edge?
