EASTENDERS - Nasty Nick is back!

Last night's Inside Soap awards was the perfect chance to unveil once again one of the original bad-boys of soap.

Nick Cotton is back!

Even though Dot thinks her son is no longer alive, Nick will soon be back on screen and I'm sure it's not to be missed!

How will Dot's grandson, Charlie, who knows the truth about his dad's alive-and-wellness, explain all to his beloved grandma?

John Altman at last night's Inside Soap Awards
John Altman, who of course plays Nick, recently spoke to the Radio Times:

"I wouldn't like to see Nick change. He's a bit too long in the tooth now to change. It's good to go back - when you've not been on the set for five years, it does take a week or so to get back into the energy of it. But I'm back on the rails now, so to speak."

Mentioning EastEnders' upcoming 30th Anniversary, John said:

"It's the energy of it. And the changes it's gone through as well.

"I'm not sure if four episodes a week is a good thing, though. It's a hell of a job creating two hours of drama a week and you have to cover a lot of different characters as well. It's a tall order to keep viewers gripped four nights a week. But it's doing really well now thanks to Dominic. My hat goes off to the producers and writers who run it. There are about 312 people who work on it now. And 53 cast members. It's a big old show."

EASTENDERS - Linda pregnant following rape ordeal?

This Monday, EastEnders will air one of its most harrowing stories to date, as Linda Carter is raped by brother-in-law, Dean Wicks.

Following her attack, Linda shuts down and refuses to speak out - or report it - instead deciding to deal with it alone.

It had now been rumoured that Linda, who recently discussed her dream of having a further child with hubby Mick, will discover that she is pregnant a few weeks afterwards.

Who will the father be?

Kellie Bright, who plays Linda, has spoken about the upcoming rape storyline with Digital Spy, revealing that her character will continue to hide her attack from her family and how it has serious reprucussions for her marraige.

EastEnders continues tonight, where a dramatic showdown between Phil, Sharon and Shirley will end with someone being shot...

HOLLYOAKS - What's Phoebe's plan for Robbie?

Phoebe McQueen and Robbie Roscoe are pushed together again next week when they both go for a mechanics job at the Roscoe's garage.

Joe decides not to just give his brother, Robbie, a free ride to the role, instead setting both Phoebe and Robbie a challenge to competitively battle it out.

Spending time together makes the former couple decide to give their relationship another try - but it soon becomes obvious that Phoebe still hasn't forgiven Robbie after their first split.

Like any typical McQueen - she's after revenge - but what is she planning?

The X Factor - Simon Cowell axes dolphin scenes

Animal lover Simon Cowell has axed scenes from this weekend's judges houses, after The X Factor spin off show, The Xtra Factor, filmed Mel B's final six boys swimming with and attending a dolphin show.

After an online petition, Simon tweeted:

"Reading your tweets. I had no idea Xtra Factor producers filmed with dolphins. This will NOT be showed on Saturday. I think you all know my view on cruelty to animals so thank you all for your concern."

What do you think of Simon's decision?

The X Factor will air over this Friday, Saturday and Sunday night - with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini taking her girls to Nice, with guest judge Tinie Tempah, Louis Walsh and his groups heading to Bermuda with ex-judge Tulisa as his help, Simon Cowell and his Over 25's jetted to LA with Sinitta and Mel went to Mexico with her six boys, and asked Spice Girl pal, Emma Bunton for a helping hand.

I'm still in shock that Louis is no longer taking his categories to Ireland!

Now, Ireland's lovely, I'm sure, but I always felt sorry for Lou Lou's category in the past when all the others were jetting off to luxury islands and his ended up in rainy Dublin!

Which category are you most excited about this year?

DALLAS - Why you should be a fan!

When Dallas was announced to be making a comeback in 2012 I was interested to see what the fuss was all about.

My mum had spoken of it, and she and my aunt were keen to have a look at the comeback, to see what had changed, what was new, whether Sue-Ellen was still nursing her drink habit and, of course, whether JR was still the JR they remembered well from back in the day...

So, I tuned in too... A tad unsure whether I'd get it - or even like it - as American series' had never been my cuppa. Friends was about as American I got!

The result - I liked it. So much in fact that I went on to buy the full box-set of the one set back in the 70's, which mum and me are working our way through - slowly!

Anyhow, three series later and I love the show.

The continuity of a show, making a comeback 20 years after its original airing was a brave decision. But the flow has been effortless. From watching the very first few series on box set, the characters are still as scheming, funny and loveable.

Of course, JR lassoed a place in my heart the first time he was re-introduced in 2012 - 'what a sweet old character' - I thought. Until the true JR shone and shone but even with his trickery and selfishness, the JR charm won me over and I was so sad when Larry Hagman passed away during the filming of the second season. Who shot JR - again! - was a fab storyline, quickly re-written due to the unforeseen circumstances and a touching way to say goodbye to a legend.

Whispers have it, though, that my beloved JR may be making an appearance during this third season in unseen footage filmed before Larry died. How? Why? I can't wait to see...

My new favourite character since the death of JR, has to be Sue-Ellen. Closely followed by John-Ross, or as his uncle Bobby calls him - JR Junior!

Sue-Ellen must be a joy for a writer to write for. She's witty, classy and funny, yet also fragile, with a heart of gold.
She sees JR in her son and wants to make sure that he doesn't make his farher's mistakes. Will John-Ross take heed or is he more like his daddy than he realises?

Bobby is another stand-out, of course. He's a subtle character, I feel. Always in JR's shadow, but happy to be so, I think.
Bobby was the calm, honest one. Part of me wants to say the smartest of the two brothers... But JR never lost a battle. Apart from his death, so the smart accolade should go to him! Christopher is definitely his fathers son, just as John-Ross is JR's.

I could write all day long and give intros to all the great Dallas characters - Christopher, Pamela, Elena, Ann.

But those of you who watch the show know about these already.

Those of you who don't watch Dallas really should join in and head on over to Southfork!

There's something for everyone. And I'm surprised that I love the show as much as I do. It's addictive viewing!

There are heart-stopping dramas, action packed fight scenes, risqué affairs, love stories and, of course, lots of arguing over oil!

The dodging and diving that JR did during his early years, and even through his older ones, had Bobby pulling his hair out at times... The brothers went to war more times than one. Just like their sons are doing now. Sue-Ellen was cheated and lied to by JR, all through their marriage, but she's returned with an unsaid loyalty to, not only JR and John-Ross, but the rest of the Ewing's, too.

As I've said there's something for everyone in Dallas...

Especially as at the heart of the show, is just a loyal family.

So, go on... Catch episode three of the new series of Dallas on Channel 5 this Wednesday.

It's on at midnight, mind. So do what I do - Sky+ and watch it over the weekend!

You'll be glad you did!

EASTENDERS - The Wedding Woes Continue...

I can't believe that Phil and Sharon's wedding has been going for over a week now! Can you?

Of course, in Walford it's all happening in a day, but I think it's another brave move of the EastEnders bosses to keep the celebrations (if you can call them that!) going for so long in real time.

Last nights longer episode really got the ball rolling for tomorrow's drama, where someone will be getting shot!

My theory of Sharon shooting Shirley is still up there, as I think the great scene where Shirl' was following Phil and Sharon round the Square pointing the gun solely in their direction was a ploy to make us believe that she's gong to pull the trigger.

There is another theory going about on Twitter, where the gossip is that Shirley DOES go to shoot Sharon, but Ben jumps in the way, taking the bullet instead?

Shirley being the victim could also back up why Dean is so upset, leading to Linda comforting him, before he rapes her. Linda's heartbreaking scenes will be shown during Monday's episode.

Of course, Dean has now taken the gun Shirl' found in Sharon's make-up bag, so it's still to be seen who gets their hands on it first - taking it to the Mitchell home.

Who do you think is going to be shot?

Also one to keep an eye on this week, according to Soap Spies is Abi Branning...

Jay ends his relationship with Ab's, saying that he needs to stay in Walford - thinking that Lola is behind his decision, Abi snaps. So much so, even Detective Emma Summerhayes is shocked by her attitude.

Apparently, the thought of Abi being Lucy's killer won't be so far-fetched after this week's scenes, after all... Hmm!

EastEnders bosses have revealed that it will go live for its 30th birthday week, which will also reveal Lucy Beale's murderer.

The special 30th anniversary will have a 30-minute live episode, with the rest of the week's eps having 'live elements, bosses have said.

EastEnders' executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins commented:

It is ambitious and exciting and something I know everyone at EastEnders will excel at, as they always do."

The 30th Anniversary 'Live Week' will begin on Monday 6th February 2015.

Little more has been revealed, leaving viewers wondering what the unguessable twists will be.

A show statement teased: "This special week will give a nod to the past and welcome the future. With storylines culminating and big momentous events happening, the EastEnders 30th anniversary will take its place in television history."

Ooh! I'm too excited for this!
