BIG BROTHER is back with a TIMEBOMB!

It's nearly summer. No, not because of the lighter evenings or the sunny days (apart from this morning!) but because Big Brother is almost upon us! 

Emma and Rylan introduced this year's theme as Timebomb...with the BB Twitter page stating that 'Time may be your friend... Or enemy'. But what does it mean?

The new 30-second trail - click to watch it here! - states that the world is awash with 'time based disturbances' while Emma promises that 'Days will turn into nights, time will stop, rewind and tasks will get turned on their heads'...

Big Brother has been, in my opinion, at its best, in a long while, since Emma was put at the helm. But that doesn't go without dramas, and over the last couple of series', B producers have had to step in to remove housemates (civilian and celebrity, alike) for various reasons, from race rows to sexism.
But this year, with a new creative director in Denis O'Connor, who was previously the shows executive producer, an 'upbeat, glamorous, thrilling and mischievous' new series has been promised.

And with Channel 5 having signed its best Big Brother for at least another three years, the show is sure to go from strength to strength?

I've always enjoyed the debates BB gets going in us, as viewers. You never meet two people who have the same favourite and least favourite housemates, and it's interesting to see people's differing opinions on the actions of the housemates.

Last year was a proving point, as Helen Wood went into the house as someone who we all thought would be brash, loud and horrid. But to be fair to her, she won... And even under her brash, loud (albeit sometimes horrid!) behavior, she turned peoples opinions with her honesty and friendship loyalties - which seem to have continued out of the house.
Did you see coverage of the 'Steverly' wedding? I can't believe last years house couple made it down the aisle... It must have been love and it's nice to see them prove people wrong about a showmance. However... Helen wasn't shy in shaming ex-housemates, Mark and Jale... But that's someone else's story!

CBB - Rylan Clark promises 'strong' line-up

Wednesday night sees the return of Celebrity Big Brother and while a new series of the show always excites, this year's making me want to watch even more so than usual. 

For starters, the promised 'twisted fairytale' theme has the makings of a uber-fantastic run, as there are so many opportunities and turns that a theme like that could take. And that's just in my mind. Maybe I should go for a role there as a task planner?! 

We've also been teased about this one being the best series to date, as both show host Emma Willis and BBOTS host Rylan Clark have both revealed their favourite part of the show is the castings - and this one's not to be missed. 

Rylan has teased this further today, by telling Metro that this winter won't be 'the usual' suspects. 

The presenter said:

"We've got a very, very strong line-up. We've pretty much got everyone, but a contestant is never confirmed until they walk through the doors because anything can happen up until the day they go in."

Rylan also hinted that we won't be seeing a handful of already reality stars become a housemate this series.

"We're trying to steer away from reality stars but there may be one. Maybe not one that's very well known, it's not your usual line-up!"

I've already heard whispers of Daniella Westbrook, Perez Hilton and (my favorite, so far) Calum Best to name a few, but I've got even higher hopes after Rylan's interview. 

Who's looking forward to Wednesday's launch show just as much as I am?

CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER - New 'Fairytale' Eye revealed

It's baaacckkk! Well, it will be soon, and it'll make the blow of the festive period ending just a little bit lighter. 

Celebrity Big Brother is returning and the brand spanking new eye and theme for January has been revealed today. 

And as you can see, the pupil of the eye is a moon, with fluffy white clouds and twisted vines surrounding it. 

Twisted being the optical word, as the theme is 'Twisted Fairytale'... I love it already! 

Channel 5 has has said that the house has been re-decorated to include 'whimsical elements that conjure up a magical atmosphere full of possibility and curiosity', but it's also been warned that the celebs should be on guard as 'there are hints that something more sinister may be lurking'... 

Celebrities rumoured to be entering the house this new year are Calum Best, X Factor fave Stevi Ritchie and Patsy Kensit. 

An official representative for Channel 5 has said:

"Will the celebrities relish their fairytale adventure or will it become a living nightmare? As always in the Big Brother house, celebrities should expect the unexpected as there will be secrets, twists and surprises around each corner."

Of course, Emma Willis is back as the front woman, and Rylan Clarke will be returning to Bit on the Side.

BIG BROTHER - Helen gets a warning as tempers flare...

Finalist Helen Wood has received a formal warning from Big Brother after yet another argument...

Now, Helen, who was granted a golden ticket to the final by Pauline, is fully aware at how vile she can become after one or two shandy's, but still doesn't seem to be able to stop the poison from falling out of her mouth. 

She's always 'sorry' the day after, and sits in the Diary Room saying that she understands how she becomes after a drink. Call me cynical, but I say 'just don't drink' if you're fully aware at how disgraceful it makes you become...no?

Helen's in trouble - again!

Anyhow, Big Brother - having previously expressed concerns to Helen regarding her behavior - has finally given the Manchester lass a formal warning after the 1000th row this week between the housemates.

If Helen doesn't heed this warning, will she be chucked out? 

Or should BB instead have revoked her golden pass to the final and allowed the public to vote for its new owner?

In other Bruv news, Jale has become the brunt of name-calling again, as Ash (who's been getting close to Helen. No coincidence - just saying!) has called her a 'slug' after realising that she nominated him.

Mark jumped to Jale's defence, telling Ash: "You don't need to say things like that to people." And he's right. It is Big Brother after all... you have to nominate someone, people! 

Lastly in today's bite-size Big Brother piece, Ashleigh (not Ash, this is the girl version I'm talking about now) has expressed her desire to become Power Housemate.

Having grown tired of living with 'absolute mouthpiece' Helen, and that she'd enjoy her time in the house much more if Helen wasn't there. 

Well, she's in the final as it stands, so Ashleigh's gonna have to cope with it! 

Little Ashleigh says she's sick of being looked upon as the 'sweet, innocent' one and reckons she would 'tear s**t up' if she had power. Ooo-err!

It actually feels like I've been watching this bunch for a whole lot longer than three weeks - in a good way, of course!

I can actually imagine, no matter who next gets power, that the house will only erupt more. I can predict someone being ejected, more back-stabbing (look out for Kimberly on that one I think) and definitely more fireworks.

BIG BROTHER - What the HECK!

So, Launch Night number two began with the promise from last night, that we would meet six new housemates and powerful Pauline - handpicked by us, the viewers - would have to make a decision that would change the Big Brother house, forever and ever and ever and... well, you get the gist!

Host Emma Willis had already said that this is a twist that's never been tried ('at this stage,' she told Rylan on BBOTS, last night) before now.

My guess is that maybe Powerful P will have to choose to evict a housemate after only one day and night. From memory and a little research, I can't remember this happening before.

In 2010, Laura McAdams, walked after just over 100 hours in the compound - if you can't remember Laura (and who can blame you!) then you can take a look back in history, here.

On one hand, I hope I'm wrong as I'd quite like to get to know every single person in this bunch a whole lot more, rather than one getting booted at the earliest of hurdles.

Pauline was brought into the control room and told that she's going to make a 'momentous decision' once the remaining six new housemates had entered the house. 

Powerful P is going to grant one housemate a pass to go straight to the FINAL. To which she said 'I wish it was me!'

WOW. That's a whole lot better than my idea!

Excitedly, Emma then introduced the first of tonight's new housemates.

Welcome Toya. A YouTube blogger who seems to know exactly what she wants in life. I like her at first looks, and so did the crowd. She's after a 'hot totty' and would ration smokers' ciggies. If any men catch Toya's eye, let's hope they stay on her right side. She's sold an ex's belongings on eBay before now - and sent him the link in case he wanted to buy them back! 

Chris was next in. An actor who plays 'psycho clowns'... Oh dear! He also has terrible jokes! I think he'll end up being quite funny to watch, ironically. He had the cheek to ask Emma for a kiss before entering the house - and with that and his peck, he was on his way in!

Third in was Ashleigh, a model. At 18, she's the youngest housemate - ditsy, but 'not stupid.' She said that she can have a bad temper, but seems quite sweet. It's also her first time away from home. Awh. 

In fourth tonight was Marlon, who has an alter-ego, with a name change when he goes out! He loves ladies, too, so luckily for him there are plenty of those in the house! Although anyone under a 7/10 isn't his 'cup of tea.' Excuse us! He reckons that no one will be able to stab him in the back in the house as he's 'always one step ahead.' There was a mixed reaction from the crowd, but I don't think he cared either way. Marlon loves Marlon. And that's all that matters, I guess!

Next we met Ash who says girls are usually 'all over him...' Him and Marlon will either be best friends or enemies! Having never done a hard days work in his life, and stating that things just 'come to him,' Ash had better get ready for Pauline's Power Trip! Talking to Emma, he tried to redeem himself, but he's going to have to work harder... Pauline liked him best so far, though, so maybe he's worked his magic quicker than expected?

Our last housemate was Jale who doesn't like middle lane drivers, she talks for England and finds it hard to live with people. Great start there! She even admitted to having had a taser and a BB gun pulled out on her. Blimey! Any task Big Brother sets will be a breeze for this girl! 

Once all the housemates were in, Pauline had to make her decision. OMG. Who's she going to grant a free pass to the final?!

I honestly don't know who I'd choose. It's a hard one, but then again, no one has ever said Big Brother was easy. 

But Pauline did know who to choose and picked HELEN. 

A good decision, I think. It could be a whole lot worse. I said last night that Helen seemed down to earth. I just hope this doesn't change how she's been so far. 

Gathered in the garden, Helen was told that she had been chosen, for what she did not yet know. 

She had to enter a glass box where she was told her fate to the eruption of squeaks from the housemates and gold confetti, while Pauline (who I also already hope gets to the final), sat in the control room, and cried tears of joy. 

Helen was ecstatic. 

Pauline was then told that, on Sunday, she would be immune from eviction and would also have a killer nomination. 

Whoever she picks will be up for eviction each and every week. Double OMG (OMG)! This is all unknown to her fellow housemates. 

What a night! And it's only just the beginning!

With just SIX hours to go until Launch Night (Part 1) I thought I'd share some pictures of the Abode we're going to be obsessing with over the summer.

So, here it is... Possibly the most famous chair in Britain!

Thanks to BBOTS host, Rylan Clark, we now know where the 2014 Big Brother Housemates will be parking their bottoms this summer. 

Tomorrow night marks the return of Big Brother - and getting a glimpse of the ultra-cool Diary Room has tempted my taste buds for the new series even further...

Big Brother returns - and he's on a Power Trip!

BIG BROTHER is back - and he's on a POWER TRIP

Reality TV fans are about to enter a summer (if it ever stops raining!) of heaven - as our favourite Big Brother returns, tomorrow night. 

This year, as you might've already heard, the theme is Power Trip. 

I love it when Big Brother runs a theme, as I feel it brings more excitement, twists, mind games and of course entertainment. 

With a theme, the housemates think they know what to expect. They think they can read Big Brother. Of course, they can't. 

The lovely Emma Willis, and the even lovelier Rylan Clark, return as hosts of the main show and Big Brother's Bit on the Side, respectively. 

One housemate will grab control during tomorrow's launch night, meaning that they will decide who gets evicted, who suffers and who gets all the treats while in the house. However, this person will only have the power for so long, before someone else becomes leader. 

This will mean that the housemates will each be out for themselves, having to play a cunning, ruthless game to make sure they gain ultimate control. 

The new house, which looks very high-tech and swanky, has been stripped back and kept minimalist. 

Housemates will have to scan their hand print before being granted entry to the Diary Room and an LED wall will present the faces of whos' up for eviction each week. 

My favourite piece of gossip so far is that they will also be given access to social media, meaning Facebook and Twitter will be a talking point. Let's hope they're all nice, as no one like reading bad of themselves! Not forgetting a 'Gogglebox' type bolt hole, so housemates can be spied on from a tree-top hide-out. 

Each contestant has also, apparently, been given an IQ test, to assure that they're all smart enough to handle the Power Trip...(ooo-err!) 

Host, Emma, has revealed that she still gets nervous about the live shows and will prepare for tomorrow night with a vodka (that's a girl!), before she goes on air.  

"The main show is very nerve-racking so I have vodka and Red Bull that I start drinking five minutes beforehand, and I sip at it throughout the whole show. I don't know why I do it. But I did it once and then thought I had to do it every time because it was my good luck thing," Emma told the Daily Star Sunday. 

It's also been announced that last year's Celebrity Big Brother contestant Luisa Zissman will be joinng the BBOTS team as a roving reporter.  

Now, all we need is a bunch of (probably very smart!) housemates!
