HOLLYOAKS - Maxine's escape in jeopardy

We finally saw Maxine Minniver pluck up the courage to leave her abusive fiance, Patrick Blake, once and for all.

But tonight, in E4's first look Hollyoaks, Patrick follows Maxine's confidant, Dennis Savage, and tracks her down at the woman's refuge she is staying in.

Patrick has been mentally and physically harming Maxine for the duration of their relationship, even being vile about their unborn baby, who they have been told has Downs Syndrome.

Maxine realises that Patrick has found her...
We already know that Patrick's son, Dodger, has fallen for Maxine - with the pair almost running away together, before Maxine decided to stick with her bullying other half.

With Patrick hot on Maxine's heels, will she come home with him?

And if she does, what will their future hold?

BIG BROTHER - Armageddon angst

With all the hype that surrounded last night's Armageddon Week launch, I was expecting a truly spectacular show, but to be honest, I was left feeling a tad disappointed. And no, not just because Kimberly's ex wasn't one of the new housemates (although, along with a bunch of other BB fans, we would've LOVED it).

To begin with, when I saw that Emma was hosting from the studio, I had a incline that the show wasn't going to be a built up as it was hyped. I wanted fireworks, the crowd outside, the new housemates going in with more of a bang.

Using the excuse of wanting to keep the eviction a surprise won't wash either - as back in the C4 days, I seem to remember Davina hosting a secret eviction and the crowd keeping schtum and playing along nicely.

Anyhow, the second blow was when the nominations weren't face-to-face as we all first thought, and as soon as we learnt Marlon was up, we all knew he'd be a goner, didn't we? Saying that - maybe even before the nommed housemates were announced, we could have put a few £££'s on Marlon being the chosen one.

Even Marlon popping out to see Emma in a borrowed dressing gown wasn't as exciting as could have been. I feel it's a shame he's gone on one hand, as he sealed his own fate, but on the other, he won't be missed as much as Jale already is...

We next met the three new housemates - former Pop Idol finalist Zoe (who was 'best buds' with Gareth Gates back in the day, remember?), Essex boy Pav and 'I'll have sex in the house' Biannca, who reminds me somewhat of Katie Price...

None of these three jump out at me as long-stay housemates, and not just because they're late arrivals.

I'm also slightly aggravated, in a protective kind of way, that these three newbies are going to kick out one of our originals - who are now all (apart from Helen) up for the chop this Friday. Usually, I don't mind a bit of a shake-up like this, but there's something about these three that I just can't take to, and would put money on them making, a. the wrong decision and b. a stupid decision. I know these tie in as the same thing, possibly. Which is just my point. These three are even making me want to back Ashleigh...so something must be wrong with them!

The good news came when we were told that we, as the public, are voting to evict one of the newbies... So that'll be one down and two to go, with any luck!

I really don't like being this negative about Big Brother, as I'm usually rooting for changes and twists.

No doubt that I'll enjoy Armageddon week, but only if our originals come out triumphant... Which I'm sure they will.

I've also watched BB long enough to know how quickly our opinions, as viewers, can change about someone we may not necessarily like today, so I am trying to keep an open mind about the next few days of Armageddon...

What do you all think?

BIG BROTHER - Countdown to Armageddon!

There's just a few hours or more to go until Day One of Armageddon week in the Big Brother house.
Who's excited?

As revealed last week, and confirmed by Emma Willis in Friday's live eviction, which saw Jale go (can I just say, I'm going to miss her in there!) three new housemates will enter TONIGHT. Eek!

But this is not before the current housemates all nominate live and face-to-face, seeing the person with the most noms leave IMMEDIATELY... Double eek!

I have a feeling that Marlon will be an easy target to nominate this week, after 'buzzergate' in the shopping task last week, so we may see him leave later...but as this is Big Brother, we know that anything can happen, so those housemates may just surprise us.

Will Marlon receive the most nominations and leave the house tonight?

Who do you think will leave?

Armageddon week may also be the ideal time to cause destruction around the Steven and Kimberly romance, by possibly splitting the pair? I'm not sure about you guys, but I noticed, while talking to Danielle on last nights show, a touch of 'thinking twice' in Kim's face... With whispers about her ex-boyfriend being a new housemate tonight might just tip that over the edge. Would you be so cruel BB?

How will Kimberly react if her ex is a new housemate?
Apparently, though, the three new housemates will be going against the original batch to compete - which is bound to cause tension and, well, hell-on-Earth!

Emma also promised a not-so-tiny little twist THIS Friday, too, possibly during the eviction show, so it's looking like this is going to be an unmissable week for Big Brother obsessives.

This weekend has already seen new alliances formed, with Helen and Ashleigh making up after being forced into being on the same team during a Planet of the Apes task.
Ashleigh also showed no mercy towards her friend, Danielle, when she shoved her over during a game in the task - leaving Danielle fuming. As much as I think Ashleigh isn't the nicest of girls, I found this hilarious, may I add! Especially Danielle's angry facial expressions and her 'team talk', not to mention her raft sinking!

Danielle has been far from impressed this week!
Surely if the newbies are going up against the originals then these alliances will only get stronger?

There will, I would imagine, be quite a bit to talk about after tonight's show... I can't wait to watch the drama unfold!

Cheryl Cole gets married!

Massive congratulations to Cheryl Cole, who has married her French beau Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.

Cheryl's fans woke to the, somewhat, shock news this morning, after Cheryl posted this picture of her gorgeous rings on Instagram.

Cheryl's gone and got hitched!

Alongside the picture, Cheryl stated:

'I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news. Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14... We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together.'

Cheryl and her new husband, Jean-Bernard
If anyone deserves happiness, it's Cheryl - and without dwelling on her heartbreak in the past, let's hope that marriage number two, which was a beach wedding on the tropical island of Mustique, is her happy ever after!

With Cheryl's return to The X Factor underway, it looks as though things are finally on the up for the Geordie sweetheart.

Congrats to them both!

HOLLYOAKS - Rapist Finn to strike again

Finn O'Connor is to set his sights on a second victim in Hollyoaks later this summer.

Viewers know that Finn raped his teacher, John Paul McQueen, earlier this year in a shock plot, which followed months of homophobic bullying for John Paul.

Having so far gotten away with his crime, Finn strikes again on another teacher at Hollyoaks High - this time the victim will be Nancy Osborne.

Evil Finn strikes again...
Nancy will be violently punched to the ground by Finn, who is soon disturbed by a passer-by and fails to rape his teacher, but unfortunately Nancy, who doesn't see that it was Finn who attacked her, struggles to come to terms with what has happened to her.

Fans have been furious that Finn hasn't yet had his comeuppance for his terrible crimes, but with John Paul soon to reveal his ordeal to new boyfriend, Ste, and this new attack on Nancy, surely it's only a matter of time before Finn is caught out.

A spokeman for Hollyoaks told the Daily Star:

"Viewers can rest assured that the net is closing in on Finn O'Connor and he will not escape justice."

BIG BROTHER MUST READ - Armageddon Week!

So, we've seen the Armageddon Week BB trailer all week, and the details have finally been revealed!

It will all kick off on Monday night in a live show, where the housemates will nominate live and face-to-face. BUT, in a shock twist - the person with the most amount of noms will leave the house immediately in a surprise eviction! Ooh!!

THEN - three NEW housemates will move in and battle the others to win rewards and help them survive the twists and turns of the Armageddon.

Details of the newbies have not yet been revealed, but whispers are that it could be Helen's nemesis Jenny Thompson, or Kimberly's ex/current/who-knows boyfriend...

Oh please let it be Kim's man... please!

It's gonna be emotional!

Big Brother - Who will leave tonight?

It's been a week of madness, maybe more so than usual, in the Big Brother house this week...

We've had Truthgate - where Helen revealed just what she, Jale and Kimberly had seen using the Gossip App as part of this week's shopping task. After promising not to say what they'd seen, Helen couldn't help herself and let rip, telling the rest of the gang what a 'liar' Ashleigh is.
I knew she wouldn't keep it to herself - Helen was dying to say something before the trio had even left the task room!

As I've said before - I agree with Helen on her opinion of Ashleigh. She is two-faced and she is a liar. Say what you like about Helen, who, I know, hasn't sometimes been the nicest of people, but in that house, at least she says to people's faces what she would say behind their backs and she isn't afraid to admit if she's been wrong.

As I've previously discussed with friends, Helen has a lot of valid points - she just doesn't deliver them correctly.

Helen blasted Ashleigh for being a liar...

We were also subjected to 'Open it' gate this week. Lucky us.

Steven and Kimberly are now 'in a relationship,' after, relating back to Truthgate, Kimberly told Steven, well, the truth, about her relationship status before entering the house.
It seems she wasn't just seeing a guy - she was living with him - and had the option to get back with him after her Big Brother experience ended.

I was surprised to see Kim break down the way she did in the Diary Room, because I thought she didn't actually like Steven in the way he likes her. But I now think she does... She seems like a very closed book and doesn't open up easily. No pun intended!

I'm not going to speak anymore about the open it incident. No one needs reminding...

Lastly, Marlon was house enemy number one, when he saved himself from tonight's public vote. As I recently said, I wouldn't have blamed him if I was in the house and believe that if he didn't hit it, someone else would have.

Marlon saved himself - much to the fury of his housemates...
Having watched Bit on the Side the other night, it seems that the panel, including 'Shredgate''s Nicola McClean, agreed that Marlon should have pressed the button, as did the audience.

I also found his house apology quite sad - as though he's a very insecure bloke who genuinely regrets what he did. I'd tell him not to regret it, as it is a game after all.

Marlon was right - every man or woman for themselves... Just ask Ashleigh!

Unlike Asheigh though, at least Marlon did it in front of everyone and not from the safety of behind their backs.

I hope she leaves tonight. I think her Big Brother story is done.

Against Ashleigh is Jale, who may not be as popular as she once was, although I think she's still popular enough to make it through to the end. We also have Chris (Little Chris) and Christoper Christmas, who both, to me, don't seem either here nor there... so could be safe, but then again, who knows.

Who do you want to see leave tonight?

You decide!
