There's gonna be a hell of a lot of trouble and strife for the Mitchell/Cotton's in the coming weeks, as secrets and lies begin to tumble out and come to a head.
Following the fabulous (did I mention how good it was!?) New Years Day episode, which has left Ronnie in a coma (were you all on tenterhooks, as she came back to life?) and Emma Summerhayes dead, and keeping with her the knowledge of who killed Lucy Beale, the Mitchell's have been well and truly done over by that dastardly Nick Cotton.
Going back briefly to the New Years Day episode - I haven't felt THAT involved in something I've watched on the telly for as long as I can remember. Everything was right about it. It kept us guessing, it had us feeling every emotion possible. Ronnie Mitchell is one of my favourite characters because she has colour, and a multitude of layers. She really is the perfect Mitchell. Many other bloggers and entertainment writers have slated Ronnie, for she's a murderer (correct), but I believe that in soaps, you can be forgiven for such deeds. Look at JR in Dallas. He did some terrible things, but we forgave him because of who he was. Deep down he always came through when his family needed him. Just like our EastEnd Mitchell's.
Some call Ronnie a psychopath. I think that she killed Carl White as she was scared for her life. And as I mentioned before - on the telly, you can forgive and forget a characters actions quite easily!

Back to the aftermath of the New Year ep - we now have Phil Mitchell in prison, after Nick wormed his way into Yvonne's affections, causing her to cover his lies and set Phil up.
Well, it seems that only Sharon and Ben will really believe that Phil's innocent, while Max Branning and Charlie Cotton are after Phil's blood. And what better way than to try and vengefully stitch up Ben, who's taken control of the Arches for his dad.
When Ben notices that something's not quite right with Max's dodgy deal, Ben angrily trashes the car lot, stopped only by Charlie.
Ben then turns to Jay for support - totally misreading the signals and tries to kiss him!
The trouble then tumbles over into the Cotton household, as when Ben is stopped trashing the car lot by Charlie, he then lays into the Mitchell teen himself, having been reminded by Nick that the Mitchell's are responsible for Ronnie's condition.
Charlie's mum Yvonne manages to step in and Charlie soon leaves Ben alone, but is even more shocked when Yvonne confesses that it was Nick who was really responsible for the crash.
Yvonne is then forced into lying further when Charlie quizzes her about how long she's known about what Nick did.
As Nick slowly twists the situation, in a way only he can, Yvonne desperately tries to prove that she's telling the truth, but who will Charlie believe?
