The X Factor - Double Goodbyes and the Shining Overs

Last night we said goodbye to two of The X Factor finalists - Blonde Electra and Overload Generation.

Did you think the right two went home?

And more to the point - did you feel for poor Louis Walsh who has now been left with just two acts, compared to the other judges four...

Blonde Electra, of course, had the least amount of public votes and went directly out of the competition, while Overload Generation and Stephanie Nala fought it out in the sing-off, where Simon and Cheryl saved Steph (Simon said that he couldn't support an act (Overload Generation) that he didn't believe in!) Ooo-er... While Mel B, who picked Overload Generation as Louis' wild card, and Lou Lou saved the boy band.

At first glance, and before the sing-off, I would probably have sent Steph home - she lacks something for me and doesn't have much stage presence. I'm not sure if it's shyness, or lack of confidence, but she just sinks into the background...whereas the boys, I thought, could maybe grow.

But after the sing-off, it was clear that Steph had smashed it and, if I were a judge, I would have had to have saved her...

Saying that, unless she grabs some confidence and shines next week, I fear that she could be in trouble again...

The top performances for me came from the Overs. Fleur was fab, Ben was bangin', Jay got jiggy and Stevi - well, he was just Stevi, but that's why people love him!!

I've said from the get-go this year that the Over 25s would be the ones to watch and I stand by that...

For the Girls - Lauren Platt stood out most for me, even though I was first apprehensive about her covering 'Happy'. She put a great twist on it and it sounded like a new song, and Chloe Jasmine's rendition of Toxic was brilliant.

Andrea was what we all thought he'd be for the Boys, simply stunning, and Jake Quickenden bought the house down.

Only the Young have something good, and I hope they have time to grow, whereas Stereo Kicks (I'm not sure I like the name...) sound great, but it still all looks too much for me on the stage, with eight boys.

Next week is 80's week - and the whispers so far are that Stevi will be singing Addicted to Love, Only the Young will cover 'The Power of Love,' Jake Quickenden will sing 'Total Eclispse of the Heart and Chloe Jasmine will perform 'Call Me.'

Of course these can change - so check back here on Friday for the official Live Week Two song list...

Who is your fave so far?
