Philip Schofield's 24-hour broadcast for Text Santa!

Philip Schofield is one of my favorite presenters on telly (don't worry Ant and Dec, you're both still joint first!) and this morning it was announced that he's gong to do a 24-hour presenter-thon for this year's Text Santa.

How exciting - for both him and us!

On Monday 1st December, Phil will start his ITV take-over on This Morning, and will continue for 24-hours, taking over a host of shows. I expect that he'll surely be heading The News and Loose Women, but what else will he have in store?

As the after-school and evening schedules are usually fixed with pre-recorded episodes and soaps, it's not known how Phil will be involved, but there may be some special live shows, in aid of the Text Santa appeal and maybe he'll even take on a role as an ITV announcer?

An ITV insider has said:

‘The details are still being worked out but Phillip will be on screen live for 24 hours non-stop — minus toilet breaks. He’s not quite sure how he’s going to physically manage it yet but it’s all for a good cause and he’s raring to go.’

Philip will then drop in on the Good Morning Britain team on the morning of the 2nd December, before ending his epic presenter-thon back on This Morning, where he'll surely then be off, and heading to bed.

This will be the first time that a TV presenter has attempted such a long broadcast, with the closest comparison being when David Dimbley was on air for 18 hours straight during the 2010 general election and when Sky News’ Kate Burley broadcast the birth of Prince George, with her longest non-stop stint being 13 and a half hours.
